Portal Kudus - Sebagian besar umat Katolik Roma mempunyai kebiasaan untuk mengucapkan rangkaian doa ini sebanyak tiga kali dalam satu hari.
Doa ini merupakan salah satu dari beberapa devosi yang ada di dalam ajaran Katolik. Doa Angelus dalam bahasa Indonesia, Inggris, dan Latin sebagai berikut:
Selain menggunakan istilah Angelus (Bahasa Latin) doa tersebut juga dikenal dengan “Doa Malaikat Tuhan”.
Nama ini diambil dari kata pertama di dalam doa tersebut yang dalam bahasa latin bunyinya: Angelus Domini nuntiavit Mariae atau Malaikat Tuhan menyampaikan kabar kepada Maria.

Maria diberi kabar oleh malaikat Tuhan, bahwa ia akan mengandung dari Roh Kudus.

Aku ini hamba Tuhan, terjadilah padaku menurut perkataanmu.
